Game of Thrones and Terminator 2 will soon be gracing online casinos powered by Microgaming.
One was one of the most popular movies of all time, and the other is one of the most popular television shows of all time and they are both at Microgaming. In an epic agreement with the producers of both Game of Thrones and Terminator 2, Microgaming has officially signed a licensing agreement that will make them the sole developer of the online casino games.
Big Hits - Game of Thrones
Set to be released in 2014, these new online slot games have already created a major buzz in the industry, but lucky Microgaming has inked the deal. "We are incredibly excited to have signed a licensing agreement for Game of Thrones, a highly relevant and extremely popular show ... This will be a fantastic addition to our branded content games portfolio," related Roger Raatgever CEO of Microgaming.
The HBO hit has won myriad awards and received nominations including an Emmy and Golden Globe. The popular show has won international acclaim, even being the UK's most watched show in 2013 on Sky Atlantic.
Terminator 2 Slot
Terminator and T2 also have international followings. The first movie was released in 1991 and netted box office sales of over $500 million. The film used computer-generated imagery (CGI) to create special effects unseen previously in the movie industry. The sequel also made an international splash.
Microgaming's excitement about making the slot was evident. Raatgever said, "we are incredibly excited to be developing an online slot around the Terminator 2 movie – it is a brand which has mass appeal and lends itself perfectly to the world of online gaming. As explosive as the film, we are in the process of creating an action-packed, jaw-dropping slot; it's a classic in the making!" The slot will launch this summer, and will be a 243 ways-to-win slot which can expand to 1,024 ways-to-win with free spins.
Growing Excitement
It's not hard to understand why these were the choices for new slot games as Game of Thrones has been nominated for basically everything at the Emmy's while Terminator 2 won 4 Academy Awards and 2 BAFTA awards.
These games will be dropping this year and if you are a fan of the box office hit, or the HBO star show, stay tuned for their release.
