Video Poker Glossary Terms

Bank - A lineup of video poker machines, usually within the same vicinity of each other.

Deuces wild - A game in which the four deuces in a stack of cards are wild and can take the place of any card to complete a hand.

Face card - The Jack, Queen, or King cards which have "faces" instead of just numbers and suits.

Four-flush - A poker hand that lacks just one card to make it a full flush.

High pair - A winning hand that's made up of two cards of the same rank, that is, a pair of Jacks or higher.

House edge - The advantage, expressed in percentage, held by the casino house running the game.

Jacks of Better video poker - The earliest video poker game in which the minimum winning hand was a pair of Jacks.

Joker poker - A game that has one wild Joker in the deck.

Progressive video poker - A type of video poker that pays a continuously growing jackpot to cards with a specific sequence.
