Pan card game or Panguingue is a variation of rummy game played in many Nevada casinos and in California poker clubs. This card game is played using eight decks of cards without all eights, nines and tens.One of the decks is stripped of one entire set of spades. In total there are 310 cards in play.
Aces are always low and there are no jokers in the game.
How to play Pan
Players attempt to meld or join eleven cards in valid sets of three or more.
There are two types of “Melds” in the game:
• Rope meld: for examples: A-2-3-4-5 or J-Q-K. Notice that Ropes must be of matching suits.
• Square meld: for examples: 5-5-5, or K-K-K. Squares consisting of the ranks 2,3,4,5,6,7, Jack or Queen must be either all cards of different suits or all of the same suit. Squares consisting of Kings or Aces qualify regardless of their suit.
