In roulette Betting on a line is like betting simultaneously on 2 adjacent rows...
Roulette is a gambling game. The roulette is a wheel that spins. Because it's a wheel, it has the form of a circle. The external extremities are divided into 37 or 38 spaces. Each space is numbered and it has a color. The color can be either black or red.
The following are some of the most important bets in roulette and ideas that you can learn:
#1: Column bets.
On a roulette table, the first 36 positive numbers are displayed on 3 columns. For example, the first column contains the numbers:
1, 4, 7, 10 etc. The payout if you win when betting on a column is 2 to 1. So if you invest $100, you will get $300 if you happen to win. This sum represents your money plus $200.
The chance of winning is less than 1/3. That's because each column contains 12 numbers. And 12 is less than 1/3 of 37 or 38. Basically in this case, the house has to pay out on average less than $100 for every $100 it receives from players. The house takes home the difference in odds between 37 or 38 and 36. The casino earns about $2.7 for every $100 bet for a 37 numbers roulette.
#2: Dozens bet.
You bet on 12 numbers at once. There are 3 groups of 12 numbers: 1-12, 13-24 and 24-36. Let's say that you bet on 1-12. If the ball lands after the spin on 1-12 then you win. Otherwise, you don't. The house makes a profit of around $2.7 for every $100 bet by players.
#3: Straight up bet.
You bet on one single number out of the 37. The payout is 35 to 1. This means that if you hit the number and you bet $100, you will receive $3,600. All the players put together will lose on average $100 for every $3700 bet. This means that the casino will count a profit of about $2.7 for every $100 spent on bets.
#4: Split bet.
You will bet on 2 numbers that are near each other on a roulette table. The payout is 17 to 1.
#5: Red or black.
You bet that the ball will stop on either a red or a black. You double your money if you happen to win. The green number which is zero is not counted. This means that you will make on average $3600 for every $3700 you bet. The profit of the house will be 1/37 which translates into $2.7 for every $100 spent on bets.
#6: High or low.
You bet that the ball will either land on low or high. Low means less or equal 18. And high means from 19 to 37.
#7: Street.
You can bet on 3 numbers at once. The numbers have to be in the same vertical row. 2 of them will share the same color which can be either black or red.
#8: Corner.
Find 4 numbers that are close together. Put your chip on the small dot that unites and separates these 4 numbers.
#9: Line.
Betting on a line is like betting simultaneously on 2 adjacent rows.
The number that really turns the odds in the favor of the house is the number zero. If you look at a roulette table, you can see that zero is green. This means that the ball that will land on zero will make the players who bet on red or black to lose their money. The number zero is responsible for letting the house earn $2.7 for every $100.
The more hands you play the more likely you are to lose money. The goal of the house is to attract and keep enough players in the long term. And it accomplishes this through maintaining a level of odds that motivates players without discouraging them.
